If it has been awhile since you hung up your gardening tools, spring is the perfect time to rediscover your inner green thumb!

From fragrant roses in a range of bright shades to your very own herb garden, there are a number of garden DIY jobs that every level of gardener of can tackle.

To give your garden an instant pop of colour why not plant some flowering bulbs this spring?

Bulbs are a great alternative to a seedling as they are all ready to go! All you need to do is plant them and they will grow and bloom in no time at all.

Spring is the perfect time to plant bulbs as they like water during their early growing stage, flourishing in the cooler months and able to sustain the dry Australian summer.

Bulbs are easy to grow, but as with any plant it is important to give a bit of thought to where they will fit in your garden - whether it be in pots, troughs, or among other plants in a garden bed.

If putting your selection in a pot, choose one variety and plant about six to eight in each pot.

Alternatively, you can also use this technique in the garden.
