Baby-proof your bathroom

It might be time for you to start preparing your home for your new arrival. One of the first things to consider is some bathroom DIY. This is one of the most dangerous rooms for your baby to be in unattended, so make sure he or she is supervised at all times.

Baby ramps, seats and bathtubs are all great ways to make your bathroom more baby-friendly. It's also a good idea to install safety taps that your child can't turn on, especially as he or she gets older.

Similarly, put kiddy-locks or child-resistant latches on your cabinets to ensure that dangerous medicines are kept out of reach.

For your own peace of mind, make sure your hot and cold taps are clearly marked so you can easily differentiate between the two. While it may seem easy now, when you've got baby brain and are lacking sleep it can be easy to accidentally turn on the hot tap when you want the cold.

Keep electrical appliances out of this room, and cover any sockets with plastic covers your child cannot remove.
