It's important to encourage your employees to take time away from their desk, computer or workspace for a break at least once during the course of the day. Consider creating a welcoming outdoor area that gives them the opportunity to get some fresh air.
Here are a few simple steps to create a space that will make your employees feel appreciated and relaxed.
1. Clear the designated area of any plants and debris that aren't going to work with the end result you're hoping for, and use a digger to level the area out. If there are plants you want to take out, consider removing them carefully - they may be able to be replanted once the new space is created.
2. Lay down paving, a wooden deck, crushed stone or gravel to section the area and give it the desired aesthetic. Surround it with plants, trees and perhaps a small water feature to really relax your workers.
3. Ensure there is enough furniture to comfortably seat a relative-sized group of employees. Bench seating and outdoor couches are great for any group size, and can make the space attractive, comfortable. This could be the perfect area to eat lunch, read a book or simply take a moment to chill out.
