Over 3000 balls are being delivered to all 11 North Harbour Rugby clubs, after equipment hire company Kennards Hire stepped up to donate to grass roots rugby.

Every registered junior player in North Harbour’s 11 clubs will receive a free rugby ball this month, with theMassey Rugby Club junior players delighted at taking ownership of their free Kennards Hire rugby balls last night.

Tom Kimber, Kennards Hire General Manager NZ said the family-owned company and North Harbour Rugby wants to put young players at the centre of the experience, creating rugby memories.

“I know first-hand what a constructive impact rugby clubs have on children’s development, wellbeing and sense of belonging and North Harbour rugby is really striving to foster those positive outcomes.

“We are thrilled to help the Local Footy League this season, and are making sure the clubs are also supported with the hire equipment they need to maintain their club rooms and facilities,” he said.

Gregg Murray, North Harbour Rugby Partnerships and Promotions Manager said the donation is a very important part of the Union’s junior rugby programme.

“We are all about improving lives through rugby, and Kennards Hire share in the same belief.  The donation contributes to making rugby accessible to junior players. Giving every player a rugby ball is a huge thing for these kids.

“We are thankful to Kennards Hire for making this a reality.“
