If you're feeling motivated by the start of spring, you may want to embark on a renovation project to rejuvenate your home.

A bathroom DIY project is the perfect job to take on if this room of your house is looking a bit tired - whether it's in need of a coat of paint or a new vanity unit.

With so many options on the market, finding the right sink to suit the decor and your tastes may be a challenge so we've put together a list of some of the most popular styles to give you an idea.

    Above the counter

An above the counter sink sits above the vanity as a separate unit - making it a focus point of the bathroom. They come in a wide range of materials, shapes and styles, including square, round, oval, glass vessels and oblong. This is ideal if you want to emphasise this area of the bathroom.

    Semi-recessed

This type of sink is more widely used than above the counter basins - sitting partially on the vanity and partly off it. If you are unsure about a recessed or above the counter sink, then this is the one for you.

    Under the counter

As it names suggests, this basin sits in the vanity itself - creating a sleek look that is perfect for the modern bathroom.

    Overhang

An overhang sink juts out from the vanity and is ideal for homeowners who prefer a larger basin in the bathroom.
