The ClimateSmart Home Service - Australia's largest in-home energy saving program - recently reached three years of operation and state environment minister Vicky Darling announced last week (January 20) that the initiative has saved Queenslanders $160 million on their power bills so far.
To mark the occasion, member for Everton Murray Watt visited a local resident to see an electrician complete a customised home energy assessment and install energy-saving equipment.
Mr Watt said: "This outstanding, internationally recognised program is saving Queensland homes up to $120 per quarter on their electricity bills."
DIY homeowners in the sunshine state might be keen to take advantage of the program in the future, especially if they are considering a number of new projects that would involve their fair share of electric tools.
Anyone keen to undergo some much-needed DIY paving to spruce up the front driveway, for example, will potentially need to hire a plug-in 33 kg electric breaker to lift the tiles or cut bitumen.
Whatever type of job you have in mind, if it requires the powerful ability of electric tools then it is important to have the right equipment at the best price to get the job done properly from the outset.
