Queensland tradies might want to take note of the date February 21, when a free building seminar will be held by the Building Services Authority (BSA) in Maroochydore.
The event will be the Sunshine Coast's first Regional Building Trade Seminar for 2012 - and it is set to feature plenty of great advice on the topics of timber framing and decks in particular.
Simon Finn, minister for building industry, announced last Friday (February 3) that the seminar would focus on best practice, as well as recommended installation methods for contractors and licensees working with the popular resource.
Defective work issues associated with using engineered wood products would also be looked at, Mr Finn indicated.
"Queenslanders love their decks - they suit our outdoor lifestyle and continue to be a popular way of adding value to homes, so it’s important they are built to last," he said.
Mr Finn added: "Whether you are a builder, designer, carpenter, supervisor or certifier, this seminar will provide you with valuable insight into issues faced by contractors and licensees right across Queensland."
Tradies interested in attending the seminar can register through the BSA, with the first words of wisdom to be heard at Waterfront Hotel from 16:00 on February 21.
