From jobsite to catwalk - the great tradie model search

Department store Big W is on the hunt for the next big thing in modelling, and they're after a tradie.

The nationwide hunt is offering $500 in gift cards, a load of clothes, and the title of Big W's men's work wear range frontman.

Tradies are unlikely to nominate themselves for the job, so the chain is actively encouraging workmates, friends and family to dob in someone they know - so long as they look great in hi-vis.

Head of menswear for the store Martin Jomoa explained the decision to use a real tradie rather than a professional model.

"There are lots of professional models that we could have used, but when it comes to work wear, nobody does it better than a real Aussie bloke."

Kennards would love to see one of its tradies grinning for the camera so get to Big W's Facebook page and dob in your workmate, your boss, or your apprentice.

Fashion designer Peter Morrissey, landscape designer Jamie Durie and fitness guru Michelle Bridges make up the panel of celebrity judges who will pick the winner.
