Hired mini dumper ideal on tight site

A rubber-tracked, high-tip mini dumper from Kennards Hire gave a building contractor a “narrow advantage” on a tight site.

Modern Image Constructions carried out a 65sq m, architecturally designed two-storey addition at the rear of an inner-city cottage.

Soil and rock from bulk and detailed excavation, as well as bricks from a demolished retaining wall, had to be moved down a 850mm wide side passageway.

The mini dumper, from Kennards Hire Rozelle handled the challenge with ease.

“The dumper is 760mm wide, so we had a little to spare on each side,” said site manager Nathan Holmes. “It was a great little workhorse, and over a week moved about 85 tonne.

“We had a lot of rain at the time, which made the ground muddy so the tracks were really handy.”

Four stroke petrol mini dumpers, which can be hired across the Kennards Hire branch network, can carry up to 500kg.

They can dump to a height of 1400mm, sufficient for direct transfer to a skip or standard two-tonne skip truck.
