As we prepare to wave goodbye to 2013 and ring in a brand new year, it's no surprise that for many of us, thoughts are turning to what we would like to accomplish in 2014.

Home renovation projects are always popular at this time of the year - January represents new beginnings, and the lovely summer weather means that it is the perfect opportunity to carry out a bit of work.

Upgrade your bathroom

It doesn't take a lot of work to transform one of the most functional rooms in your house to one of the most fabulous!

A bright coat of paint can freshen the whole room up - with the right tools and a bit of careful preparation, you'll find DIY painting to be a relatively straightforward task.

Alternatively, you might want to change out your existing flooring for linoleum or tiles that are easy to care for - or you may prefer to replace your cupboards.
