The bathroom is one of the most used rooms in a house, therefore it is likely that at some stage it will need a makeover.

Whether you want to just make a few changes to freshen it up, or give it a new look, you can tailor a bathroom DIY project to suit your desires and needs.

If you want to completely restyle your bathroom, you may want to consider a theme.

Ocean themes are both popular and easy. To achieve this look, give the room a fresh coat of paint - think hues of blue and green, and place shells around the room. Filling a few different sized glass jars with sand will also look great.

If you want your bathroom to look a bit different, why not go for a Japanese-style renovation?
Mosaic tiles, simple fittings and timber furnishings all work with this theme. Putting a plant in the bathroom is also a nice touch, as is the addition of traditional shower screens.

For a renovation project with a little more simplicity, you will be surprised at how different a bathroom looks after a thorough clean and de-cluttering.

Use transportable draws to store products and bathroom goods you don't need to create some much-needed space.
