According to Weatherzone (January 29) an intense low is going south, taking "flooding rain and damaging winds from northern NSW to the state's south coast".

Australian Associated Press reported that around 180,000 homes in southeast Queensland are without power this morning, with broken tree branches and debris littering some streets.
