If you're busy with a bathroom DIY project and you don't have a lot of space to work with, then we've got three top tips on how you can create a more spacious room.

    Goodbye bath, hello shower

A traditional bath takes up a lot of room, sometimes as much as half of the area!

Replacing your tub with a shower can help to free up more space for you and your family to move around, making it much more functional and aesthetically pleasing.

You could further encourage water saving initiatives in the home by installing a special water-efficient shower head.

    Glass shelves and cabinets

According to DIY Network, using clear glass shelves with mirrored backs can make the room appear "more open and less cluttered".

    Floating shelves

Instead of having poky baskets and trays taking up space on your bathroom floor, opt to put your towels and supplies on floating shelves.

These can be mounted to open space on your wall to give a modern look to your bathroom and free up floor space!

The open floor space will also create the illusion that your bathroom is bigger.
