At Kennards Hire, giving back isn’t just something we do, it’s at the core of who we are as a family business and aligned with our One Family and Fair Dinkum values.
We care for our mates, collaborate to achieve our goals, and support one another every step of the way. That commitment extends to the communities we’re a part of, as we believe uplifting each other helps us all grow stronger together.
KidsCan, Aotearoa New Zealand's leading charity dedicated to helping Kiwi kids affected by poverty, and our New Zealand branches participate in an ongoing programme designed to give all kids a fair go. The Buddy School Programme provides quality equipment, project expertise and volunteers, to help make school spaces beautiful and engaging environments to grow and learn in.
Our branches across New Zealand support 4-5 local schools or early childhood learning centres each, with team members providing hands-on support and equipment to schools that need assistance with maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
The Buddy School Programme provides 100% discount on equipment hire such as ride-on lawnmowers to maintain large areas, scissor lifts and scaffolding to assist in school mural designs, and mini-loaders and wheelbarrows to move large quantities of sand and bark.
Our teams provide equipment and people-power to almost 400 schools and early childhood learning centres across NZ.When it comes to lending a hand, Kennards Hire Invercargill has stepped up, supplying a powerful and reliable log splitter that’s been essential to the Spirit Army’s firewood program. Countless metres of wood have been cut and delivered to families across Southland, keeping homes warm through tough winters that would otherwise be cold and challenging.
Spirit Army is a grassroots community group run by everyday people dedicated to helping struggling families get back on their feet. Taking on a limited number of families at a time, the team work with local agencies and businesses like Kennards Hire to ensure families are happy, secure, and thriving.
Over-stimulation to noise, particularly in higher sound intensive areas of stadiums such as front-of-stage, is a common trigger for sound sensitive individuals.
Our teams have collaborated with the Eden Park and Forsyth Barr Stadium, to implement permanent Sound Sensitivity Stations which dispense free ear plugs to fans on a self-serve basis.
To ensure prime accessibility, the stations are positioned at different locations within the stadium grounds based on need and are restocked ahead of all major concerts and sporting events.
This is a first of its kind initiative at a major New Zealand venue and we hope that it will help individuals with sound sensitivity to experience the magic of big game days and concerts without the risk of being overwhelmed by noise levels.
Inventus Cares Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Kennards Hire and Eden Park, teamed up to put together an unforgettable day for 40 children from their holiday program. This event celebrated community support, providing young individuals with an extraordinary opportunity to train at the iconic Eden Park.
The day included a tour of the hallowed corridors of Eden Park, a goal-kicking session on the pristine Eden Park Number One field, where the aspiring young athletes could hone their skills on the same turf graced by their sporting heroes, lunch and an afternoon filled with fun training activities and games on the Kennards Hire Community Oval. Laughter filled the air as the children engaged in sports and activities that nurtured their physical well-being and fostered connections with their peers.
