Building Bikes to Build Confidence

Earlier this month, Kennards Hire, Queensland General Manager, Matt Hardy, got on the tools and took part in the 4th annual TRACTION CEO Bike Build.
With the help of the Kennards Hire Foundation, and some great supporters from around the traps, Matt raised $6,500 for this inspirational organisation which we have supported since 2020.
This is the second year Matt has been involved the bike build and he says he takes something positive each time.
“The bike build brings together community and business leaders to work alongside young people in a hands-on partnership. This year I partnered with Beau, a great young man with incredible potential. The build shows you that patience, guidance and empathy go a long way to developing trust and engagement.”

The annual CEO Bike Build is an opportunity for the young people taking part in TRACTION’s programs to shine and demonstrate their skills, getting on the tools to lead local CEOs and executives through the process of building a bike. All the bikes built on the day are donated back into TRACTION’s Bike Build program to enable more young people to rebuild and ride in future workshops.
More than $145,000 was raised on the day, all of which goes directly into scholarships to help 60 more young people experience TRACTION programs across Southeast QLD.
