The 2023 Variety SA Bash is on again from 12 - 19 August with Kennards Hire as a Gold Sponsor for the 11th year in a row, and 13th year overall in supporting this iconic Australian charity.

This eight-day event see’s entrants venturing through South Australia’s Riverland, crossing into regional NSW and Victoria and back through SA’s Mallee before finishing on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. This year, there will be almost 270 crazily costumed entrants, in over 80 fun and multi-coloured vehicles taking part to raise funds to help support South Australian kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem.

As well as being such an important fundraiser for Variety SA, with the iconic charity positively impacting over 85,000 South Australian kids through 179 grants totalling almost $5 million in 2022, the event also brings in much needed economic benefit to regional areas of South Australia, and across into regional NSW and Victoria, through supplies, meals and accommodation.

SA & NT, General Manager, Gareth Vines said, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Variety SA for another year. For 13 years now, we have been proudly supporting the community and children in need through the many charities and fundraisers that Variety support.

“The SA Variety Bash is an iconic Australian fundraiser and event giving people from all walks of life the opportunity to experience a drive through our beautiful country side while raising money for South Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability”

“We are looking forward to another year as Gold sponsor and wish all participants the very best for the Bash.”

The Variety Bash was created in 1985 by adventurer Dick Smith when he took a group of friends for a drive he called ‘The Bourke to Burketown Bash’ and the Bash today has not changed from this original concept. It began in South Australia in 1989 and over the past 34 years, has raised in excess of $48 million for South Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability.
