Consider each room of your home as an individual DIY painting project

When it comes to working out how to paint a home, one important thing to keep in mind is that each room of the property comes with its own unique features and challenges.

Rather than viewing the entire house as the project, you might be better off breaking it down into individual DIY painting jobs to tackle one at a time.

This is especially the case for households that appreciate variety and want rooms to stand out for their own colour and style, rather than blend into the overall theme of predominantly neutral tones.

You may wish to have a bedroom or study painted with a feature wall in a bold colour to make a visually striking impression whenever you step through the door, while in the kitchen or dining room perhaps light shades will suit the existing decor and vibrant artwork.

With a well-considered plan in place and all the colour schemes chosen it is time to get painting, so if this is a one-off project it could be necessary to hire equipment such as an extension ladder to reach high ceilings.
