Saving DIY projects for a rainy day

If you've got plans for the weekend but they get washed out because of stormy weather, make sure you have a rainy DIY project on hand to make the most of your days off.

Some of the most popular - and easiest - DIY projects can be found in the bathroom. New sinks, tubs and decorations can all enhance this area of the house with minimal effort, and most don't take more than a hard day's work.

Renovating the bathroom can be as simple as taking an everyday household item and, with a little creativity, turning it into a new fixture.

Start by looking in your kitchen. See that partially full wine rack? With a few screws you can install that on your bathroom wall, and then you've got a perfectly good, classy towel holder that keeps them neatly rolled until they're used.

Or, nail wicker baskets to the wall, opening facing you, and place rolled up towels inside. It won't take much to give the area a whole new look.

Bathroom DIY doesn't have to be a time-consuming affair. With the right perspective, it can make for a great rainy day activity with lasting results.
